Our Review

Rivendell was established in 1987 by a local Margaret River family and became recognised for its gardens, restaurant and wines. The property was purchased by private investors in '04 (who established Howling Wolves in this location). The ensuing 11 years saw changing ownership of the property by a number of different parties. Fast forward to '15, and Darryn and Silje (Celia) Gruenthal joined Danny and Corinne Gruenthal (Darryn’s parents) in full ownership of the property. After a few years of extensive renovations, '18 was their first release of wine under the Rivendell label. The vineyard on the property is planted mostly to cabernet sauvignon, while the fruit for the remainder of the wines is purchased from local growers. Rivendell Winery Estate features a unique timber cellar door that provides tastings and sales of Rivendell wines. Coffee, beer and picnics are also available to enjoy in the gardens. Postage is available throughout Australia for orders on our website.

Rivendell Winery Restaurant is a small niche family owned business, situated on Wildwood road, running straight through the heart of the Margret River wine region. Specialising in modern Australian Cuisine, the Rivendell Winery Restaurant offers a fresh and flavoursome culinary experience nestled within the tranquil Old World English gardens of the Rivendell Winery.

The food is lovingly prepared using the freshest produce from local farms, seafood that is brought in
by passionate fishermen from the Indian and Southern Oceans and smallgoods produced and unique
to the Margaret River and Yallingup area.

The charming Rivendell Gardens have been established in this area for more than 30 years and offer a beautifully
relaxing and picturesque environment, glistening with pixie dust. Whether you are having a long magical lazy lunch
in the restaurant or on the outdoor deck, overlooking the beautiful secret gardens, listening to one of our live
musicians or involved in a Wedding or at a private or corporate function, you will enjoy a wonderfully memorable
dining experience.

Accommodation options at Rivendell Winery Estate vary from modern houses to rammed-earth villas and the historical Lodge. Each villa is fully self contained and features 3–5 bedrooms with a minimum of two bathrooms. The villas are individually owned and managed.
