Our Review
Brown Brothers bought the Innocent Bystander brand (including Mea Culpa) from Giant Steps in ’16, relocating the cellar door next door in the old White Rabbit Brewery site. Its business is in 2 completely different wine categories, both fitting neatly together. On one hand is the big volume of vintage moscato, the grapes coming from the King Valley; and non vintage prosecco, similarly sourced. The other side of the business is the premium, high-quality Yarra Valley single varietal wines with substantial brand value. -JAMES HALLIDAY

At Innocent Bystander's urban cellar door, wines are served fresh from temperature-controlled, 100% recyclable kegs; it’s the same wine as in the bottles, just served from fancy copper taps. Choose your own wine adventure by selecting five of your favourite wines and have one of their resident wine experts take you through the range, or if you’re rolling in with a party of 10+, they’ll get you seated in their wine lounge (subject to availability) for a guided tasting experience; $5 tastings, cost redeemable on takeaways. Bookings essential for dine-in but walk-ins welcome (when available). Please note: 10% surcharge applies on Sundays; 15% surcharge applies on public holidays.
