Myrtaceae

Victoria | Mornington Peninsula

Our Review

John Trueman (viticulturist) and wife Julie (winemaker) purchased their Mornington Peninsula hinterland property near Arthurs Seat in 1984. Chardonnay (0.6ha) was planted in ’98, and the initial plantings of cabernet were replaced with pinot noir (0.4ha) in ’99. Just one Chardonnay and one Pinot Noir are made each year from the estate grapes, a Rosé made from pinot is a more recent addition. Meticulous viticulture using Scott Henry trellising is used to maximise sunlight and airflow at this cool, elevated site. Extensive gardens surround the winery. -JAMES HALLIDAY
