Our Review
Helen Miles, who has a degree in science, and partner Greg Miles have planted 2.8ha of shiraz, 1.2ha of cabernet and 0.4ha of merlot near Metcalfe, in the cooler southwest corner of Heathcote. The granitic soils and warm climate allow organic principles to be used successfully. The shiraz is dry-grown, while the cabernet sauvignon and merlot receive minimal irrigation. -JAMES HALLIDAY
