S. Caica

Simon Caica – pronounced Kai-Kerr – pivoted from his background in political science, a lifestyle he describes as ‘incredibly dull,’ to wine, accruing experience as opportunities arose to access small parcels of fruit. His formative years were spent in the winery at Golden Child Wines in the Adelaide Hills and making natty-leaning experimental wines under his Lust for Life label with good mate Sam Rowlands, before completing vintages abroad in Burgundy and Alsace. Today, Simon works exclusively with growers in McLaren Vale, and the wines are made with a little more polish, though not too much. Most notable are his bottlings of cinsault and rosato, each a call to action for immediate drinkability, alcohol reigned in, flavour and refreshment dialled up.
