Poppelvej

Poppelvej is the name of the street where Uffe Deichmann grew up. It is a benevolent confluence of Danish winemaker with an inquisitive mind, Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale fruit and minimalist handling. The culture here is one of early picking for freshness, zero additions (other than minimal sulphur dioxide for psychological reassurance) and little messing about. The wines are neither fined nor filtered, firmly in the natural camp and for those accustomed to little but conventional winemaking, potentially challenging.
