Beklyn Wines

South Australia | Currency Creek

Our Review

Mark and Rebekah Shaw's wine journey began while working in vineyards in McLaren Vale in '94. In '02, they built their first home in Currency Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula. They planted 10ha of shiraz, and have recently planted another 10ha. Grapes for their first wine (’16) were purchased from 3 vineyards in McLaren Vale, with grapes from their estate plantings in play from ’18. The pattern of grape growing and selling part of the production and using the remainder to make their own wines is a sensible approach. ‘Beklyn' means ‘pretty brook', derived from the passage of water flowing through the estate. -JAMES HALLIDAY
