Nanny Goat Vineyard

New Zealand | Central Otago

Our Review

Situated in the Queensberry subregion of Central Otago, midway between Cromwell and Wanaka, the Nanny Goat Estate Vineyard sits on the ancient northeast-facing terraces of alluvial soils that are a patchwork of loess, gravel, schist and mineral quartz. Winemaker Alan Peters-Oswald crafts a superb range of chardonnay and pinot noir wines from growers in the Pisa, Gibbston, Bannockburn and Queensberry subregions as well as single-vineyard, Biogrow-certified organic wines from their 18ha home block. These are wines that speak clearly of both regional and subregional nuance and impress, from the wild-edged Basket Case to the serious depth and line of the Super Nanny. -DAVE BROOKES
