Our Review
It comes as no surprise to anyone that Central Otago boasts some of the most picturesque cellar door backdrops in the world. Amisfield takes it there and then some. Situated at the base of Mt Pisa, the site was established in ’77 by landscape architect John Darby. Today, the certified organic vineyard is planted with several clones of pinot noir and aromatic white varieties, including sauvignon blanc, riesling, chenin blanc, and pinot gris. The pinot noirs are typically very high quality and well worth seeking out. Amisfield also boasts a restaurant that is underpinned by the estate’s philosophy to showcase the breadth of exceptional producers in the region.
