Moody's Wines

New South Wales | Orange

Our Review

Tony Moody's great-grandfather started a chain of retail shops in Merseyside, England, under the banner Moody's Wines. The business ultimately sold in 1965 to a brewery seeking to minimise competition. Tony planted 1ha of shiraz ‘in a promising sheep paddock' in 2000, and has subsequently added 1ha of sauvignon blanc. Moody's is in the east of the Orange region, with lighter rainfall than the west, the soils clay rather than red earth. -JAMES HALLIDAY
