De Bortoli Wines was established in 1928 by an Italian family who fused their wonderful traditions with ours. Stanton talks with Leanne as they taste variations of the Noble One Semillon, a wine that's won countless awards, giving citrus notes, as well as marmalade and apricot. Their Italian restaurant is also explored, serving delicacies including gnocchi and panna cotta. Steve (Leanne’s husband) shows Stanton their key varieties, namely their 2018 A8 Shiraz produced from old vines planted in 1971.
Tahbilk have some of the oldest vines in history dating back to 1860. James Halliday commends the beauty of the estate as a “living outdoor museum” that “radiates history”. Stanton speaks with Alister who walks her through their stunning underground barrel room. She is lucky enough to try their widely celebrated Masanne, from 2017 and the 2011 museum release.
