Our Review
Branches of the Haeusler family have lived in Langhorne Creek for years. When the family agreed that the former dairy farm (with two large red gums bearing the evidence that two aboriginal canoes had been cut from their bark) should be divided between the 2 brothers, David and Sue Haeusler knew that one use for their property was viticulture. David had worked in the wine industry all his life: first in his uncle's vineyard, thereafter assisting in the set up of a nearby winery. He continued as assistant winemaker and production manager while obtaining a diploma in wine marketing. In ‘93 and '94 Sue and David planted shiraz, malbec, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and verdelho. A new shiraz block was planted in ‘14 and in '16 the first grapes were crushed for Kanoetree. -JAMES HALLIDAY
