Molly Morgan Vineyard

New South Wales | Hunter Valley

Our Review

Established by the Roberts family in 1963, later acquired by a syndicate headed by Andrew Simon of Camperdown Cellars fame. Molly Morgan focuses on estate-grown wines from vines up to 50+ years old (the semillon planted in 1963, shiraz and chardonnay following in stages through to ’97). The vineyard is named after an exceptionally resourceful woman who was twice convicted and sent to NSW, married 3 times (the last time when she was 60, her husband aged 31). Out of this improbable background she emerged as a significant benefactor of the sick, earning the soubriquet ‘Queen of the Hunter’. -JAMES HALLIDAY
